A holistic context
for our dry forest

Community Vision Workshops

CONNECTING DRYLAND COMMUNITIES USING HOLISTIC MANAGEMENT TO IMPROVE RESILIENCE AND QUALITY OF LIFE FOR FUTURE GENERATIONS.

Here we share the results of the workshops that we have carried out in 3 different communities of the Dry Forest and of a fourth unified workshop with representatives from all of the communities. We present what the residents expressed in their own words; how they wanted their quality of life to be, how the land and the environment should be in order to provide this quality of life, and how they must behave to achieve it. If you agree with the use of “Holistic Context” for the communities of the Dry Forest, add your signature in support of making it a reality!

DRY FOREST COMMUNITIES

VISION WORKSHOPS AND HOLISTIC CONTEXT IN THE DRY FOREST COMMUNITIES OF PERU

RESULTS:

THE UNIFIED HOLISTIC CONTEXT OF DRY FOREST COMMUNITIES

The families within the communities of the dry forest are unified and economically stable. They are optimistic entrepreneurs with a good work ethic and skills. They live in peace and tranquility, with good health  and public services including water, security, and education. All residents have a good quality of life and the capacity and space to develop personally and professionally. There is freedom of religion and expression with good conversation and communication. The communities are recognized for their productivity and professional work with livestock, agriculture and tourism. They offer quality products and services in a harmonious and renewable manner within their environment of abundant and green fields and forests.

THESE PRACTICES ARE ENSURED TO CONTINUE FOR GENERATIONS TO COME:

THE PEOPLE they treat each other with respect, kindness, honesty, loyalty, and trust. They are welcoming, hospitable, empathetic, supportive, and generous.

THE LAND: has biodiversity, healthy restored soils, permanent forests with thriving wild fauna and pastures for prosperous livestock. Water is clean and plentiful.
